Although DVDs can be archived, storing and streaming digital music is the primary function of the RS series.  Music files can be stored in lossless format, for your high quality enjoyment :

The RS3

Fitted with a maximum of 2x internal HDDs, and passively cooled (fanless) - this version is ideal for installation in the HiFi rack.  The RS3 is the original Music server - as acknowledged by Linn.  Ideally suited to rip and share Audio CDs.

The RS5

Supporting upto 5x easy to fit HDDs.  The RS5 is also addtionally equipped with DVD ripping capabilities.  For the larger CD or CD+DVD collection the RS5 is the server of choice.  With the optional AVA-Ex and using 2TB HDDs, you can host upto 20,000GB of media files.  The RS5 does have a quiet fan fitted, to cool the HDDs, and is not near silent as the RS3.
