The music / video file extraction (ripping) operation is very simple.
- Insert your chosen Music CD, DVD or Blu Ray* disc into the slot loader, and the track information / album art is quickly retrieved from premium metadata providers.
- Music files are additionally then down converted to high quality MP3 format, for portable devices as well.
Upon completion, which completes normally after 4 minutes, the Music CD is automatically ejected. DVD and Blu Ray discs can take 60-90 minutes to rip, depending on the film length etc.
The system is optimised for headless operation, no PC is required, or screen etc.
The system provides media services to the following devices:

- DLNA devices (100's already in the market - ie PS3, Linn, Philips, and many more)

- Logitech (ie Duet)

Your music collection is extremely valuable, and extracting the music, can be costly in the first instance, or be done over many years as you add new content. The AVA RS5 automatically duplicates the music data across multiple physical storage devices, ensuring your music is always safe. You can also turn on Video duplication if you want.
Although the AVA RS5 can store a huge music collections, in lossless and MP3 formats as well as DVD and optional Blu-Ray discs, there is no need to be worried about ever out growing the server - adding new, low cost, storage is extremely simple and takes only a moment to complete. If you out grow the RS5 simply plug in the SQA-Ex - and double the drive capacity.
With TLS you can also rest easy that your selected files (music / photos) are safely backed up off site in the Tranquil Life Server data centre.
